In September 2018, several hundred utility professionals converged on Chicago, IL for the annual Women’s International Network of Utility Professionals (WiNUP) International Conference. Conference attendees spent three days learning, connecting, and giving back with other utility professionals from across the country. Metro Chicago hosted a Business Meeting and “Breakfast with Ben” on Wednesday, March 14th. Attendees had the pleasure of hearing from our Executive Sponsor, Ben Felton, and WiNUP committee chairs, while enjoying breakfast.Ben spoke about managing risk in career evolvement and the importance of taking risk. The STEM Committee presented their current initiatives and goals.
Members of Metro Chicago's STEM Committe volunteered for the Hebron Elementary and Middle School Science Fair on April 27th, 2018. There were a total of 80 science projects presented in various topics. The students had to select a problem, conduct research to formulate a hypothesis, determine a procedure for the experiments, collect data and draw conclusions.
